20-09-11 Architecture - Platform Framework - Deep Dive

Participants

  • Stefan Schäfer
  • Dani Schwander
  • John Lutz
  • Xrail, Cecilia Dagerholm
  • DB Cargo, Mahesh Bhatter

Minutes

  • The CIO call was discussed and Stefan will send out a reminder to all CIOs for better representation in the Architecture team.
  • Channel management.  Need to specify and define the various communication channels.  Difficult at this point to define this without having the final architecture defined.  In order not to create bottlenecks, it should be noted that different communications channels are foreseen in distributed platforms.  The benefit is for integration, creating homogenious interfaces across the distributed platforms. See slide for agreed points
  • Slide 10. Change the slide from a process view to a static view (no implying any particular order). Annotate the slides with a summary to better explain the content.
  • Platform Migration - Silde 8:  Path (from Migration slide set).  The categories are interdependent: Migration of exissting platforms, set up new RFF platforms, Integration of new RUs, Migration of existing RU's, cooperation with other platforms.  The inputs are Cost and Speed. The proposed impacts are: Coverage, benefits, reception and flexibility. Need to add a key message to this slide. and re-order the ranking of the migration concept.
  • Add an open issue to address Hitrail/Hermes
  • Add the SAFE rankings for capabilities on the slide for integration path along domains/layers
  • Next meeting on Monday 14 September.
